Charlie WRIght Memorial Scholarship

Charles (Charlie/Chuck) Wright went home to be with the Lord at the young age of 30, but he touched and impacted many lives during that short time. If you ask Charles’ family or friends what was his passion in life, they would all say worship, and it was so evident when he played and sang during worship services.
Charles’ love for music started when his mamaw signed him up for piano lessons. From there he learned to play trumpet, bass, acoustic and electric guitar, banjo, harmonica and any other instrument he could get his hands on. He played in school bands, and was active in several bands with friends, but it was when he was singing and worshiping the Lord that his true passion was manifested.
The Charlie Wright Scholarship was established out of our family’s desire to see his life continue to touch and change lives. It’s our wish as his family, to bless an Ignite student that shares the same love for music, worship, and God as he did.
